גּוּף שֶׁמַּדְלִיק אֶת גּוּפִי
מוֹחַ שֶׁגּוֹרֵם לְמוֹחִי לַחְשֹׁב,
אֲרִיזָה כֹּה מֻצְלַחַת
שֶׁלִּפְעָמִים אֲנִי שׁוֹכֵחַ שֶׁזֶּה רַק נְיָר.
לִפְעָמִים
אֲנִי צָרִיךְ לִזְכֹּר
אִם אֲנִי אֵינֶנִּי גּוּפִי
אִם אֲנִי אֵינֶנִּי מוֹחִי
אָז אוּלַי עָדִיף שֶׁאֲנַסֶּה לְהָסִיר אֶת הָעֲטִיפָה מֵהַמַּתָּנָה הַמְּתַעְתַּעַת הַזּוֹ
וַאֲגַלֶּה עִם מִי אוֹ עִם מָה אֲנִי נִמְצָא בֶּאֱמֶת.
הָאֵם אֶפְשָׁרִי שֶׁהִיא
הָאֲפֵלָה שֶׁבֵּין הַכּוֹכָבִים?
הַדְּמָמָה שֶׁבֵּין הַצְּלִילִים?
הַדְּמָמָה שֶׁבֵּין הָרוּחוֹת?
כְּפִי שֶׁאֲנִי עַצְמִי לִפְעָמִים.
אוֹ אוּלַי הִיא דָּבָר אַחֵר?
הַאִם גַּם הִיא
הַמְּעִידָה בֵּין עֵרוֹת לַשֵּׁנָה?
הַמָּוֶת בֵּין נְשִׁימוֹת?
הַלֵּדָה הַמְּבַלְבֶּלֶת בֵּין שֵׁנָה לְעֵרוּת?
אוֹ דָּבָר שֶׁאֵינִי יוֹדֵעַ עָלָיו דָּבָר עֲדַיִן?
מִי הִיא זוֹ - הַמִּסְתּוֹרִין בַּעַל הָרַגְלַיִם אִתָּהּ אֲנִי חַי?
הַאִם יֶשְׁנוֹ
חֵלֶק אַחֵר שֶׁל הַיְּקוּם
הַמַּשְׁקִיף דֶּרֶךְ עֵינֶיהָ
לְתוֹךְ חֵלֶק הַיְּקוּם שֶׁלִּי?

A body which turns mine on,
A mind which makes mine think,
Such great wrapping
Sometimes I forget it’s just paper
Sometimes
I have to remember
if I’m not my body
If I’m not my mind
Then I better try and unwrap this deceiving gift
and find out who or what it is I’m really with.
Could she be that
that blackness between the stars?
that silence between sounds?
that stillness between winds?
as I sometimes am.
Or could she be something else?
Could she too be
that slipping between waking and sleeping?
that death between breaths?
that confusing birth between sleeping and waking?
Or something I don’t yet know?
Who is this mystery with legs I live with?
Is there
another part of the universe
peering through her eyes
into my part of the universe?
