A personal retreat is created for you according to your needs for rest, relaxation and healing. A personal driver meets you at Burgas airport and drives you one hour to Nedyalsko, where Emma, an Israeli scholar, artist, Rabbi, spiritual caregiver and poet will attend to your spirit. Her partner, Ben Avi, a world traveler from America and she grow their own food in their spectacular garden. While she leads activities, he treats guests to three delicious and filling home cooked meals a day. The transformative nature of the retreats must be emphasized. This is a place where brokenness is welcomed, can be talked about and expressed while in the healing environment of nature and health, with Emma as a wise and gentle steward for internal growth. It is a haven for artists of all kinds, with peaceful space and creative materials abounding.
A word about the food: Bread is made from a 100-year-old sourdough starter, but born every morning afresh. Granola is served with homemade vegan yogurt and fresh fruit salad for breakfast, usually under the Linden Tree in the garden.
Lunch is fresh bread with homemade vegan cheese and dips which titillate the senses and fresh cut garden vegetables.
Dinner is a surprise every evening. Served under the berries of the Linden tree, surrounded by the lush vegetable, fruit, flower garden in which much of the food is grown. In the center of the garden, a rotunda greenhouse reigns, tomatoes, potatoes, and many other delights flourish in the heat. The food is varied, delicious and filling. Mushrooms with veggies on rice. Always with abundance and a multi layered taste. Peanut and eggplant stew. Pad Thai with fresh peanuts and lime. Amazing salads with sprouted lentils or garden vegetables. Regular meal times add to the healthy atmosphere. Fresh berries and fruit trees dot the grounds. Tea of every herbal fragrance is grown, just pick your own blend.
There is a lake just a five-minute walk from the farm, with Storks, herons, starlings, wild rooted trees and yes, a Loch Ness monster (actually a plethora of big fish). There’s a forest across the way, through sheep pastures.
Emma and Ben Avi’s art work of mosaic and painting can be seen throughout the complex, of a family home, and two units for couples or individuals, with more planned for the future.
Emma, who is a pleasure to be with, will do healing with each guest in a personal way. If it is spiritual study of Kabbalah that you seek, one can study the mysteries and secrets here. If it is guided imagery to cope with personal development, she is an expert. Emma has created multiple sets of art illustrated cards with spiritual wisdom. Some adorn one of the units.
She can also lead her guests in physical exercises in order to heal broken body and psyche.
Laughter is as abundant as the roses and birds in the garden.
Emma has researched and discovered the fascination of Bulgarian petroglyphs. She will offer her guests a tour of carvings of the sunrise, best to experience at the actual sunrise.
The visit is intriguing and healing.
Recommended for those who love nature, seek healing, are suffering from the tensions of every day stress. Here is an unknown haven of healing for the body and the soul. Delights for the spirit and for the palate and in a garden of Eden off the beaten path.
Recommendation: 10 stars, I will be back, such complete healing and transformation for the mind, body and spirit! I am calmer, happier, and a more whole person after a week in this garden of Eden.

I have known Emma Shamba for many years now. She has been a source of inspiration, empathy, creativity, and endless wisdom.
Once I heard about herself and Ben-Avi setting up their retreat place in Bulgaria, my heart was drawn to it immediately and I felt that I must come and experience it myself.
This moment came after I experienced a few challenges in my life.
I felt that my heart needed healing and that my well of creativity needed Emma to help it flow again and open up.
Ben Avi’s food and hospitality and Emma’s heart-opening welcome, along with gifts of wisdom and creativity, allowed me to feel held and nourished truly.
We all went on a journey filled with the beauty of Bulgaria’s ancient landscape.
I was immersed in lake water, cradled in a majestic cave, and became free among the mountains of Bulgaria.
This trip was significant in my healing and creative journey and was truly inspiring.
I recommend the magic created in ‘RAZA’ by Emma Shamba and Ben Avi for everyone who wishes to look closely into his/her heart and experience his/her body in a place of great beauty.'

My retreat in Raza was the best gift I gave myself last year. In retrospect, I see now that it was a pivotal point in my journey of self-love, free expression, and spiritual growth.
The 5 days I spent at the beautiful farm, and at the tender care of Emma Shamba and Ben Avi, charged my batteries full with inner peace. My room was sweet and comfortable, the books and art equipment within it - the perfect companions. The meals were tasty, healthy and beautiful as well, so obviously made with love and great talent. The farm itself, a work of art, a direct nurturing connection with mother earth. The nearby lake – serene, pleasant, cleansing.
During my stay, I had daily sessions of spiritual and artistic guidance with Emma Sham-Ba. Her gentle wisdom helped me untie emotional knots and expanded the space within me. Came out of it with renewed energy for creation and a clearer view of the paths ahead of me.
We did not stay in Raza the whole time. One morning, right before the eve of the holiday of Shavuot, we made a sunrise pilgrimage to an ancient sun temple, where we held a ritual, deep and simple. I felt connected to my deepest roots, and enjoyed a true communion with creation and humanity.
There is much more I can say and tell, but all of it will be very personal, and therefore not necessarily relevant to any future visitors to Raza, since the secret of the place is that it can hold different meanings for different people.
I am looking forward to return anew.
